Call Me Spongebob Nick

For now you can call me Spongebob #NickG. Not since the day I started my 1st biz that I’ve felt this amount of energy, passion, excitement, craziness.

Entrepreneurship is a marathon, not a sprint. Thru the journey, the ups & downs, we get tired, distracted, etc. In a common scenario, sometimes unknowingly we will hit a plateau or worse, digress.

Hence, always check yourself. Check your mindset. Check your emotions. Check your energy.

Am very blessed to report that I am back to the basics….my origin where I am learning everything with super ease and everything is possible. I can even walk thru a wall! The No is replaced by the How. My brain and heart is driving me crazy.

This is my 2nd wind…..and I am enjoyyyyyying it.

The MaGiC Moment

Seems like only yesterday when I stepped into Malaysian Global Innovation & Creativity Centre (MaGIC). Blink and months have passed. Our tenure in MaGIC has come to an end with beautiful moments of our experience there.

I still remember the first day I arrived in MaGIC and met a friend. I was asked if I was there as a mentor or investor. Well, neither! I was there as a participant. Even the most seasoned serial entrepreneur needs to continue learning. Sometimes the best place to learn is from the startups…..a collection of fantastic minds and ideas.

I was there as a participant aka cofounder of my new brand, #SparePartsAsia with my Philippines partner. SparePartsAsia is a true Asean Economic Community brand, a joint venture between Malaysia and Philippines, for the Asia market.

I already had experience wearing the hat of an entrepreneur and investor and now, a whole new experience – a startup cofounder. Yes I was expected to go thru the works – build the system, pitch, etc etc etc. Does that make me a more complete entrepreneur now? A BIG yes 😀

So as I complete this post, I wish to express my thanks to the amazing people in MaGIC for their support and encouragements.

 

Hungry Me

For the next few days I am going to be confining myself in a class to crunch numbers and figures. Most folks will tell me that I am wasting my time and money. Well, maybe but in my opinion, this is a time and money well spent.

Am thankful that I’ve always held closely the belief that learning is a lifetime thingy. One should never become too comfortable, lazy or proud to learn. As a matter a fact, there is nothing to be ashamed of to admit that am feeling lack in certain areas and needing to improve.

On that note, I had a splurge of interest and passion a few weeks ago to learn about numbers in relation to business. Immediately I went searching for the best place to learn. Without hesitation, I registered as soon as I found one.

So folks, if you are unable to contact me or do not hear from me for the next few days, I will be in a class somewhere upgrading myself 🙂

I Have An Attitude

Yeah, you heard me. I have an attitude. Bad boy am I? Far from the contrary, I have the good learner’s attitude….so I remind myself all the time.

Having an attitude is not bad. Having a bad attitude is. In my case, it is my belief that you learn from the time you take your first breath till your last.

Learning and application….that’s the actions that create magic.

Yesterday, at the invite of a friend, I attended School of Charisma. The full day session on Personal Branding was hosted by the awesome Datin Winnie Loo and Steve Wee.

Here, amongst my fellow professionals from all industries inc professional photographers, doctors, head hunters, etc, we were given a greater insight into the how’s, what’s, why’s, when’s and where’s of branding. The highly participative nature of the session made us all think. Session was especially relevant and beneficial due to the input of Datin Winnie, drawing from her wealth of experience and success in her baby A Cut Above group.

At the end of the day, all of us left with clearer ideas on branding. Importantly too was the networking and bonding amongst our peers of other industries.

BIG Head

Mmm…feeling my head to see if it is getting bigger. Don’t misunderstand me. Don’t mean am big-headed cause of arrogance.

Been attending a workshop this weekend (2 days). So much information uploaded into my brains and along it – ideas, plans, etc. It’s been a while since I had so much uploaded into my head.

Was so excited yesterday after the session that went home, had dinner and immediately did some personal research. Not a very good idea cause when I went to bed, I couldn’t sleep 😦 too much brain activity.

Well, at least the “slight” fatigue and sleepless night yesterday was for a good cause. Now have to sort out all the knowledge, ideas, plans in my brain…
