Avatar land…why this name? Somehow passing by Ipoh, it occurred to us that this land is a potential shoot area for Avatar. Yes, it may not be as spectacular as Zhangjiajie but it is beautiful nonetheless.
Our journey to the north took us past this land called Ipoh. We have heard much about the wonderful yummy food here but never quite made an excursion there to experience it first hand. There’s always a first time and today is this day 🙂
Upon the recommendation of our foodie expert friends, we visited this old place called Kong Heng. It is located in the old part of Ipoh town and is renowned for it’s yummylicious food.
If you are an avid photographer, then remember to bring along your cameras. It is not only to snap the awesome food but also the surrounding buildings. It’s almost like a rundown heritage building but still maintained well enough and even houses a few retail outlets including contemporary Plan B restaurant.
The food here is nothing short of amazing. The crowds just kept coming. The white coffee was full of flavor. Sorry folks, the white coffee in KL does not even come close. The steam chicken drumstick scores a perfect 10! The meat was so tender and smooth. Truly the best ever I’ve tasted. It was so good that we ordered it twice 🙂 The lady boss of the stall was so humble when we complimenter her food and merely commented that we arrived at the right time when the chicken was just freshly prepared.
Then there was the beansprouts, popiah and caramel custard. Just about patron orders the coffee and caramel custard. Have the custard cold and it will tingle your tastebuds.
Here’s a pic of two very excited and blessed foodies…hehe
With our tummy filled and senses tingling, we continued our journey north, all the time planning and waiting for our next trip.
Bon Appetit folks! Don’t miss this place.
